Fireworks mishap: 11 people injured by firecrackers on the first day of Diwali
11 people were injured by fireworks on the first day of Diwali. 11 cases have been registered in Minto Hospital alone due to bursting of firecrackers.
Special wards have been arranged in Minto Hospital to treat those affected by firecrackers, and 11 cases of firecracker accidents have been registered since the 22nd.
A total of 11 people including 10-year-old boy Azad of Chamarajpet, 50-year-old Ramesh, 19-year-old Jayasurya of Mysore Road, 4-year-old Surabhi, 49-year-old Sangeet Verma of Sarjapur, and 22-year-old Abibulla of Avenue Road were injured in the firecracker explosion. Manoj, a 10-year-old boy from Jepinagar, was burnt by a firecracker in his eye. He also has burns on his eyes and body.
A 7-year-old boy from Thanisandhra, Samuel, got a serious injury in his right eye when the rocket exploded. A 7-year-old boy named Aditya from Fraser Town was also hit in the eye by a firecracker.
